Data Deletion Request
You can request deletion of any data Dishplay has collected about your account, screens, or devices. This page explains exactly how, what is removed, and what is retained.
What data the Dishplay Player app collects
The Dishplay Player mobile app (io.dishplay.player) is a digital signage player that pairs a screen to a Dishplay account. The app does not ask for personal information such as your name, email address, or location. It collects only:
- A locally-generated screen pairing key (an 8-character code used to bind the device to your Dishplay account)
- Device fingerprint: Android ID, model, brand, and manufacturer (used to identify the device on reinstall)
- Heartbeat and event data: connection status, screen resolution, app version, currently-playing content ID, and diagnostic events
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. The app does not collect contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera data.
How to request deletion
Option 1 — Delete a screen yourself (immediate)
- Sign in at portal.dishplay.io
- Open Screens, find the device, and click Delete
- Uninstall the app from your device
Deleting the screen removes its registration record, device fingerprint, heartbeat history, and event logs from our active database within 24 hours.
Option 2 — Delete your full Dishplay account
Email hello@dishplay.io from the address registered on your Dishplay account with the subject “Account Deletion Request”.
We process requests within 7 business days and confirm by email when deletion is complete.
What is deleted
- Screen registration records
- Device fingerprints (Android ID, model, brand, manufacturer)
- Heartbeat history and event logs
- Content (images, videos, playlists) you uploaded
- User account and authentication records
What is retained
- Billing and invoice records — retained for 7 years to comply with tax and accounting obligations
- Anonymised, aggregated analytics that cannot be linked back to a deleted account
Encrypted backups containing residual data are purged within 90 days of deletion.
